great: its an abarth, its decent on gas, can be quick, sounds ok

I actually drove one a couple of days ago. I'll be putting a review up soon
But it is a great car. Very loud. so much character. The shifter has some really long throws, which is annoying in traffic.
Also, where do you live?

Focus STs are rounding mid 19s around here as FieSTas fly off the lots, but 15k is such an attractive number.

I agree wholeheartedly, and I do live in a smaller town where the driving is city oriented. That said, there are still a few 45-55mph state routes that can't be avoided on my commute that I have to keep in mind.

I paid 15k for my base PT Cruiser back in '04. This is a much better usage of $15k

The car will drive perfectly fine in that environment. Do it. Buy the Abarth. Install a short shifter. Be happy.

haha long throws. My first car was a 16v VW Scirocco. It felt like I was reaching into the refrigerator to grab a jar of pickles every time I wanted to shift. Beat that for long throws Abarth (I have driven a few, they werent that bad)

It's Italian, so it's certainly not done depreciating. So there's that to deal with.
And your manly man friends will make fun of you for not buying a truck, and getting a pretty little Fee-Ot.
Also, you sit oddly upright, its a weird thing about them.
Otherwise, it's great. Personally, I'd have a Mini, but they're both great choices.
